Polyvagal-Informed Focusing
Somatic Therapy for Trauma & Addiction
What is Focusing?
Have you ever felt there was more to you than old patterning and beliefs that are keeping you from living your true authentic self?
Focusing is an inner exploration of our bodily sensations otherwise known as the "felt sense", as explained by Eugene Gendlin and Peter Levine. The felt sense refers to the body’s way of holding and expressing emotions, sensations, and memories that can’t always be put into words.
When we focus on this deep connection, we are able to gain access to our true nature - a Self that is free from the limitations and suffering of our traumatic experiences. In this place, we allow for profound transformations that can shift long-held patterns of stress and anxiety.
As a polyvagal-informed somatic-focusing practitioner, I guide individuals through this unique therapeutic approach, while addressing the root of anxiety, trauma, and physical discomfort. This method is based on Jan Winhall's model of The Felt Sense Polyvagal Model for Trauma and Addiction, which invites you to recognize your nervous system state as you explore the felt sense.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, which often leaves underlying issues unresolved, this approach invites safety, and resilience, and a potential shift in biology.
